Exmoor offers many cycle routes, a few of which go through Hawkridge. This is hill country – several 33% challenges! – with some ridge roads for the less fit. Bring your own bike or hire locally.

There are many game shoots all over Exmoor offering plenty of shooting and clay pigeon shooting experiences and coaching.

Safaris

One of the best ways to see some of Exmoor’s famous wildlife is to take a safari. Travelling in off road vehicles, with knowledgeable local drivers, you may encounter red deer, hares, Exmoor ponies, hawks and even Exmoor farmers. Visit pretty villages and enjoy breathtaking views – with no worries about driving on our very narrow roads, nor parking problems.

Water Activities

Wimbleball Lake offers sailing, kayaking, canoeing, wind surfing, picnics and walking. Paddle in rivers at safe, local places such as Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and Withypool Bridge. Boat trips run regularly from Lynmouth and Ilfracombe.
